Which inspection sticker do I need?

An inspection sticker shows at a glance that something has been inspected, when that was and when the next inspection is due. You apply it to the tool, the machine or the installation after the inspection. That way everyone on the shop floor can see straight away whether the equipment may be used.

What do you use inspection stickers for?

  • Electrical equipment and installations. Think of hand tools, extension leads and switch cabinets. For inspection to NEN 3140, a sticker is the usual way to record the result on the equipment itself. NEN 3140 is the Dutch standard for the safe operation of electrical installations and equipment, and requires periodic inspection.
  • Emergency lighting: the date of the last check and of the next one.
  • Fire extinguishers and fire protection: annual maintenance, with your own logo.
  • VCA equipment, such as lifting and climbing equipment and personal protective equipment.

Which sticker do you choose?

  • Approved or checked, with the date or the year. For equipment that has passed the inspection.
  • Next inspection date, next check or approved until. This lets the user see when the equipment has to come back.
  • Rejected (red with a white cross, or with text). This takes equipment out of use straight away.
  • With your own logo and text. Useful if you inspect for customers: your name is then on every item you have inspected.
  • With blank space, so that you can fill in the date, your initials or a number yourself.

Year colours

The colours of our inspection stickers are based on the IMO year colours. With a fixed colour per year you can see from a distance whether an inspection has expired. Would you like a different colour or your own design? That is possible on request.

What does a good inspection sticker show?

  1. The status: approved or rejected.
  2. The date of the inspection, or the date of the next inspection.
  3. Who carried out the inspection: your company name or logo.
  4. A number per item. This can also go on a separate inventory sticker, so that you can find the item in your inspection register.

Please note: the sticker records the inspection, but is not an inspection itself. The inspection is carried out by a qualified inspector.
